Those attending

Organisations of all sizes offering careers in law, who wish to:

  • promote their organisation;

  • meet face-to-face with students and graduates to identify potential talent;

  • recruit cost-effectively to vacation schemes, training contracts and graduate roles; and

  • network with other organisations.

Lectures (pre-booking is required)

There will be two lectures running on the day as follows:

Jason Perrin - Barrister No 5 Chambers

Time: 11pm Venue: Student Union Board Room

Jason joined chambers following the successful completion of his pupillage under the supervision of Steven Reed. He graduated with a 1st class law degree and obtained an “Outstanding” on the Bar Course, performing top of his respective year on both courses.

Jason has experience of multi-track, fast-track and small claims track cases. Jason has regular court appearances and has acted on cases in the County Court and High Court. Outside of court, Jason has experience advising in conference, by telephone and provides written advice. Jason will be providing hints and tips on starting a career as a barrister.

Carl Mconie - AM City Grad

Time: 12pm Venue: Student Union Board Room

Carl is a Team Leader at AM City Grad, a platform that allows graduate employers to connect with students. AM City Grad is currently working in partnership with Birmingham Law Society to help place graduates into local paralegal positions. Carl will be talking about how to maximise your chances of obtaining graduate level legal work. How do you stand out from the crowd? How do you maximise your CV to attract quality employers? How do you network? These questions and many more will be answered in Carl's talk.
